I’ve Owned This Toner for 20 Minutes & Already Can’t Live Without It

I’m a fuss bucket when it comes to toners. As much as I love the ritual of splashing one onto a cotton pad and sweeping over my skin, the reality is I’m not a lady of leisure—meaning I opt-in for quick misting or spray toners. I also can’t handle a lot of fragrance—even if the INCI (ingredient list) boasts an all-star lineup of skin saviors.

It’s becoming harder and harder to get my hands on my favorite toner, Prebiotic 3-in-1 MultiMist by Murad, so I’ve been on the hunt for a hydrating toner that boasts some incredible benefits. Versed is a brand that’s come up on my radar for toners. Apparently everyone elses, too: 3 Target runs have yielded nothing but empty shelves where the Versed Milky Toner should be. (I was even gonna compromise on my “spray only” toners just to try this well-rated product).

Further down the Target shelves was a brand I know but have NEVER tried: Pixi. The Pixi Glow Tonic is legendary considering it’s a mass brand: even prestige skincare brands consider it a threat to their products. I don’t need any more exfoliants in my arsenal (thanks to The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Try it once and you will see a glow like you’ve never seen before.) and was happy to see they had a Hydrating Milky Mist. After a quick ingredient list read and price check ($20!) I tossed it in my basket.

Some people eat in the car after their Target run. I apply skincare products. Even though my face was sweaty from working out, I spritzed Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist over my skin.

  • The smell: lightweight and delicate. YAY!

  • The pressure of the mister: delicate and covered a large area with just one press

  • The formula: water-light yet hydrating. How did they do that?

After around 10 mists, I checked out my face. The lines around my mouth were plumped up. My skin felt soft — something I don’t normally notice unless I’m exfoliating. The feel, fragrance, and visible hydrating results were incredible. All this from a $20 toner!

Even if you’re oily or have acne, I recommend giving Pixi’s Hydrating Milky Mist a try because it’s so lightweight. It will probably help bring balance to your skin which could help curb frustrating maskne and breakouts.
